Conjunto Carvalhal is located in the historic center of Braga, in Portugal. The proposal focuses on the requalification of Palácio do Carvalhal and some of the adjacent buildings, as well as the regeneration of the existing pedestrian path. At the same time, consolidation is sought, in a logic of continuity, from the perimeter of the block defined by Rua do Carvalhal and Rua do Carmo, creating a collective garden for its inhabitants in the center of the complex. 

The proposed residential complex, adjacent to the pedestrian path, appears as an urban sculpture, with a fragmented volume solution that allows to reduce the impact of the construction in the urban context. The pedestrian path is assumed as part of this urban sculpture, framed by the boundary walls of the adjacent plots and becomes, for that reason, inseparable from the new construction.
