Entering through the highest level on the ground we are pulled to a clearing of greenery lush, far from the “outside world”. A clear goal since the beginning: to preserve the intimate relationship with the terrain, separating the “inner world” from the outside through a barrier. It’s the public image of the house: clean and slightly detached from the ground, as if the house doesn’t mean to importune it. Transposing the “barrier” below, through a courtyard contiguous to the terrain (only noticeable as we get closer to the house), that’s where all the “plot” is revealed and in the entrance hall is where the pool and the clearing are discovered. In this floor the social area of the house is built in a kind of symmetrical movement to the clearing, embracing the central outer space that relates the social areas with the pool and with the terrain, ensuring the visual and physical relationship with the garden.
The goal is for the garden and the house to unite themselves in a symbiosis where the construction will be adapted to the terrain, thus their presence becomes more elegant and less imposing. The house and the garden are treated as elements that evolve and on which many appropriation processes are being sedimented.
