The Lusitana building, located in the historic center of Braga, appears in historical terms in various representations of the city, and has undergone numerous transformations over time, in the facades and in the implantation.

Despite all these easily identifiable changes, motivated by the different times that the building had to adapt, the fundamental aspect to remember is that the original design is still present. The interior of the property will be reformulated to adapt to the experiences and uses of our times.

The proposal is in line with the idea of ​​reducing the volumetry of the existing building, promoting good conditions of habitability in its interiors and returning to the building a permeable street again.

The intervention involves the restoration of the existing facade and the reformulation of the programmatic distribution in order to respond to the needs of the building - commerce and/or services on the ground floor and housing on the upper floors, with small housing typologies connected to patios and duplex typologies with access to the roof.
