The territory is how the man wants it.

The organization of, or a, space is always a double-ended stick. On the one hand it should be almost automatic, natural. On the other hand it requires some care. Let's be clear, the content developed does not aspire to be a treatise on spatial organization, but rather a kind of instruction manual for a better use/understanding of a space.

It is jmca's view of the 'thing'.

The presence of a rug works as a structuring principle for any space organization. The placement of a rug delimits an area, draws an area on the floor that is allocated to a certain action. A rug is always a place elsewhere; another way of using the same space, not only because of what it offers, but because of what it imposes, suggests or simply omits. The rug is a base, one of the minimum organizers of space, where the analogy with cartography transforms it into a pedagogical element for understanding the territory.

The piece we propose ended up 'fitting' this theme. It's a kind of rug and also a kind of sofa, or anything that suggests/provokes an organization and a use. The 'mountains' chosen are a physical approximation to the place, to larger places that become objects on the scale of needs, body and desire. The 'mountains' drop down, disassemble themselves into slices and with their curves paths are drawn; flexibility to use and organize the space, giving the subject the power to act and decide, just like Nature, which has always 'indicated' the most interesting ways to inhabit.
