Casa Foz is located in Nevogilde, in the city of Porto in Portugal.

It is developed over 3 floors, with an area of 900 m2, in an environment with a neighborhood of houses and some buildings, of different scales, which partially block the view over the sea.

Placed on the corner of a block, a diagonal axis structuring the house was provided, with two balconies and two terraces positioned at the ends, in line with the sea view, diverting the gaze from other buildings.

These balconies and terraces prolong the relationship with the outside, which bursts through the house, crossing it. A continuity of light and materials; concrete, wood and stone.

On each level the shape of the house takes on different characteristics. On the garage floor, the construction regulates the relationship with the land, connecting the two entrance levels, allowing the creation of a platform on which the house rests. 

The new reference level of the house is a large terrace, elevated above the street, where only the stairwell and the elevator and kitchen volume are assumed as structure, releasing a glass envelope in dialogue with the garden. 

On the top floor, in the intimacy of the rooms, the composition is more closed. The openings are more evident, with large windows framed by the stone facade and two balconies above the trees, overlooking the sea.
