The E33 project is an intervention in the building of the “Old Jesus, Maria and José School”, located between Coronel Ferraz, Visconde de Sabóia and Pocinho streets, in the heart of the historic center of Fortaleza.

Several activities operated in the place for many years - until the 20s it functioned as Escola Jesus, Maria e José, with the aim of implementing Catholic religious initiation to disadvantaged children, later the Parish House functioned in the building, which served as support for the Parish of São José and later also the Auditorium of Rádio Assunção Cearense and a company selling agricultural equipment, during which time several alterations were made to the building, altering part of its original configuration.

The proposal implements in this building a study, research and image processing center, capable of communicating the city to the people, in its historical processes and new projects, through the image.

The program includes areas for administration, bookstore, classrooms and workshops, multipurpose rooms, restaurant, pedagogical kitchen, indoor and outdoor exhibition galleries and the central events patio.

For this, the project defines a requalification of the existing building and proposes an expansion with a new construction, establishing with it a formal relationship of continuity, at the same time that it is deformed, giving rise to a new, wider way of accessing the central courtyard and to the proposal of a taller building that completes the urban complex.
