Externato Carvalho Araújo is a private school located on the outskirts of Braga, in Portugal.

The building occupies a large property, too splitted nowadays, and tries not to aggravate its mischaracterization. Simultaneously, it seeks to preserve the language of the existing building and the manor-house atmosphere of the entrance, reducing the visual impact of the new volumes and thought as a decent and enriching finish to the future city park. 

Some relevant species and green areas were preserved and the semi-buried buildings allowed the treatment and relationship of the roofs, denouncing the search for greater continuity with the outdoor spaces.
